– Eleanor Roosevelt

– old Persian Proverb

Forgive those who have injured you -not because they deserve your forgiveness, but because you can never be happy until you release your anger and grant forgiveness.
– Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Love wasn’t put in your heart to stay. Love isn’t love until you give it away.
– Michael W. Smith

One of the illusions of life is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour.
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
No man has learned anything rightly, until he knows that every day is Doomsday.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Procrastination is like a credit card: it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill.
– Christopher Parker

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

飄[piāo] 落[lùo] 著 [zhe] 淡淡[dàn dàn] 愁[chóu] 一[yì] 絲[sī] 絲[sī] 的[de] 回[huí] 憶[yì]
Drifting down faint melancholy. A trace of memories.

那是歌 啦啦啦
那[nǎ] 是[shì] 歌[gē] 啦[lā] 啦[lā] 啦[lā]
That is a song, la la la …

Translator’s note: I think this song is about the singer’s remembering the one she loves who has long died. The beginning melody gives me spooky feelings, yet it is very beautiful, like a song in a memory floating dream — sweet haunted sad love song I guess.
According to internet search, this was the theme song from “Your Smiling Face” in 胡慧中 Hu Hui Zhong’s first film in 1980.

Quotes about haunted:

“Nature is a haunted house–but Art–is a house that tries to be haunted.”
― Emily Dickinson, The Complete Poems

“I missed you, Angel. Not one day went by that I didn’t feel you missing from my life. You haunted me to the point that I began to believe Hank had gone back on his oath and killed you. I couldn’t escape you and I didn’t want to. You tortured me, but it was better than losing you.”
― Becca Fitzpatrick, Silence

“If we can forgive what has been done to us . . .

If we can forgive what we’ve done to others . . .

If we can leave all of our stories behind. Our being
villians or victims.

Only then can we maybe rescue the world.

But we still sit here, waiting to be saved. While we’re
still victims, hoping to be discovered while we suffer.”
― Chuck Palahniuk, Haunted

“Come on, come on don’t leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something’s gone terribly wrong
Won’t finish what you started
Come on, come on don’t leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can’t breathe whenever you’re gone can’t go back
I’m haunted”
― Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift: Speak Now

“We’re all of us haunted and haunting.”
― Chuck Palahniuk, Lullaby

“To live is to be haunted.”
― Philip K. Dick, Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said
