Mandarin song of unconditional love 鲁冰花 Lu bing hua 曾淑勤 Zeng shu qin: lyrics, pinyin, English translation, Chinese children’s nursery rhyme about stars, quotes of stars, Starry night by Mayday

Lu bing hua is the flower which usually grows under tea trees. After Lu bing hua withered away and died, it gave itself and fertilized the land it used to grow on, so that the tea tree will be able to grow stronger. The unselfish Lu bing hua faded away but its spirit remains, just like the most sacred love in the world ⎯ a selfless and unconditional maternal love.

The second part of the song is a Chinese nursery rhyme. It describes that a child remembers her mother’s words in retrospect under a silent, starry night.

According to southern Fujianese dialect,Lu bing hua originally means 路边花 Lu bian hua, road side flowers. The writer of the song lyrics changed it from 路边花 to 鲁冰花 Lu bing hua, just to give it more artistic flavor.

There are some people think Lu bing hua is the so called Lupinus hartwegii. This picture shows you how Lupinus hartwegii looks like.

Quotes of stars

“What Is Love? I have met in the streets a very poor young man who was in love. His hat was old, his coat worn, the water passed through his shoes and the stars through his soul”
― Victor Hugo

“Trust your heart if the seas catch fire, live by love though the stars walk backward.”
― E.E. Cummings

“I like the stars. It’s the illusion of permanence, I think. I mean, they’re always flaring up and caving in and going out. But from here, I can pretend…I can pretend that things last. I can pretend that lives last longer than moments. Gods come, and gods go. Mortals flicker and flash and fade. Worlds don’t last; and stars and galaxies are transient, fleeting things that twinkle like fireflies and vanish into cold and dust. But I can pretend…”
― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 7: Brief Lives

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.”
― Carl Sagan, Cosmos

“I love the stars.
Because they can’t say anything.
I love the stars.
Because they do not judge anyone.”
― Natsuki Takaya

“I think that we are like stars. Something happens to burst us open; but when we burst open and think we are dying; we’re actually turning into a supernova. And then when we look at ourselves again, we see that we’re suddenly more beautiful than we ever were before!”
― C. JoyBell C.

“Yours is the light by which my spirit’s born: – you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.”
― E.E. Cummings

A song from poetry inspiration 一程山水一程歌 yi cheng shanshui yi cheng ge, One journey of landscape, one journey of song 任天鸣 Ren Tianming: lyrics, pinyin, English translation, 纳兰性德 Nalan xingde 词 ci poem 长相思 Chang xiang si, Lasting Longing, Don’t Stop Believing Journey lyrics

The inspiration of this beautiful, sentimental song came from 纳兰性德 nàlán xìngdé’s 词 ci poem 长相思 (Chǎngxiàng sī, Lasting Longing)

shān yī chéng , shuǐ yī chéng , shēn xiàng yú guān nà pàn xíng , yè shēn qiān zhàng dēng . fēng yī gēng , xuě yī gēng , guō suì xiāng xīn mèng bù chéng , gù yuán wú cǐ shēng .

One journey of mountains and one journey of water, I walked toward the other bank of Yu mountain pass. In the late night, there were lamps in thousand tents. Two-hour period of wind, two-hour period of snow (note 1),
the clamor broke my heart for hometown and I was not able to dream; my hometown did not have such noise.

Note 1: 一更 [yī gēng] one of the five two-hour periods into which the night was formerly divided.

The incredible song

Theme song of movie “Broken-hearted flower shop”

shì Wǒ jiāng chóu dān chéng zuì xǐng zuò shuì
It is I who saw worries and indulged them as drunkenness and regarded awakening as sleep

háishì chóu yǔ Wǒ de xīn gòng yǐ lèi
Or are worries and my heart together all already tired?

fēi Wǒ fù shī shī fù Wǒ
It is not I who composed poetry, but poetry composed me.

fēi Wǒ yǐnjiǔ jiǔ yǐn Wǒ
It is not I who drank wine, but wine drank me.

héshí xié shēng jīng yǐ zhān shàng cāng tāi lěng
When the sound of shoes has moistened the cold green moss?

shì shàng Hé Wù zuì yì cuī shào nián lǎo
What in this world is the easiest to hasten young people to become old?

bàn shì xīn zhōng jī shuāng bàn shì rén yǐng yǎo
One half is that frost accumulated in the heart, and the other half is the shadow of the person disappeared.

fēi Wǒ lí yuè yuè lí Wǒ
It is not I who left the moon; it is moon left me.

fēi Wǒ sī xiāng xiāng sī Wǒ
It is not I who miss hometown; it is hometown misses me.

guī děi xī rì yuē qiáo biān hóng yào bù shí rén
I returned to old days’ bridge side, but red Chinese peony did not recognize me.

jiū jìng shì Wǒ zǒu guò lù
Is it that I am actually walking on the road

háishì lù zài zǒu zhe Wǒ
Or the road is walking on me?

fēng guò xī chuāng kè dù zhōu chuán wú mì chù
Wind passed by the west window; there is no place to find the guest’s crossing boat.

shì Wǒ jīng guò chūn yǔ qiū
It is I went through spring and autumn

hái shì chūn qiū jīng guò Wǒ
Or is that spring and autumn went through me?

nián nián yī chuān xīn cǎo yáo kàn què shì jiù
Every year, this one river’s new grass if I saw it from afar, it seemed like old time’s.

yè shēn gū dēng zhào bù huǐ
In the late night, the lonely lamp was shining on the unregretful person.

huí shǒu qīng jiāng jǐn shì lèi
When turned around to see the blue river, all of it were tears.

fēng qíng pāi jiān pà jiàn míng yuè jiǎn qīng huī
When the wind patted on my shoulders, I was afraid to see the bright moon decrease its pure splendor.

yī chéng shān shuǐ yī chéng gē
One journey of landscape, one journey of song

yī dí shū yǔ hán chuī chè
In the scanty rains, the sound of flute was blowing through the coldness.

mèng zài Yè Yè shēng shēng jǐn chù qīng qīng hé
In the farthest place, dreams were lightly echoing with each leaf, each sound in harmony.
