tiān (天 noun, heaven) zhù (助 verb, help) zì (自 pronoun, self) zhù (助 verb, help) zhě (者 pronoun, the person) .
This post attempts to cover some common usages about God in daily Chinese language. Saying God all the time is not respectful. However, this post is totally educational and hope you don’t mind.

In Chinese literature and historical documents, the phrase 上帝 Shàngdì and 天 tiān first appear in 尚書 shàngshū or 書经 shū jīng “The Classic of History”, a collection of documents and speeches which is said to have been written by officials of the early Zhou 周 zhōu Dynasty (1122-221 BC, a semi-nomadic clan and first came into power when it overthrew the Shang dynasty in 1122 B.C) and before.

1 She prayed to God earnestly.
她诚挚地向上帝祷告。
tā chéngzhì dì xiàngshàng dì dǎogào .
tā (pronoun, she) chéngzhì (here functions as adverb, sincerely or earnestly) dì (a particle which usually is placed to connect adverb and verb phrase) xiàngshàng dì dǎogào .

2 Oh my God, I’ve won the lottery.
天哪我赢了彩桊。
tiān na Wǒ yíng le cǎi juàn .
tiān (noun, heaven or god) na (exclamation, to show emotions) Wǒ (pronoun, I) yíng (verb, win) le (particle to show action occurred) cǎi juàn (noun, lottery).

3 Thank God, you are alive.
感谢上帝你还活着。
gǎnxiè Shàngdì nǐ hái huózhe .
gǎnxiè (verb, thank) Shàngdì (noun, God) nǐ (pronoun, you) hái (adverb, still) huó (verb, live) zhe (a particle to show continuous motion).

4 For God’s shake, shut up please?
看在上帝的分上,请闭嘴吧。
kàn zài Shàngdì de fēn shàng , qǐng bìzuǐ ba .
kàn (verb, see or look) zài (preposition, at) Shàngdì (noun, god) de (particle to connect attributive and the noun it modifies) fēn (noun, share or part) shàng (preposition, on) , qǐng (adverb, please) bì (verb, shut) zuǐ ( noun, mouth) ba (particle to show suggestion) .

5 God forbid that I should ever have to talk to her again.
但愿我永远不必再和她说话。
dànyuàn Wǒ yǒngyuǎn bù bì zài hé tā shuōhuà .
dànyuàn (verb, wish) Wǒ (pronoun, I) yǒngyuǎn (adverb, forever) bù bì (verb, don’t have to) zài (adverb, again) hé (conjunction, and) tā (pronoun, she) shuōhuà (verb phrase, talk) .

6 God knows where the money went.
天晓得钱跑到哪儿去。
Tiān xiǎode qián pǎodào nǎr qù .
Tiān (noun, heaven or god) xiǎode (verb, know) qián (noun, money) pǎo (verb, run) dào (preposition, to) nǎr (adverb, there) qù (verb, go) .

7 May God forgive her.
愿上帝饶恕她。
yuàn Shàngdì ráoshù tā .
yuàn (verb, wish) Shàngdì (noun, god) ráoshù (verb, forgive) tā (pronoun, her) .

8 God bless you.
上帝保佑你。
Shàngdì bǎoyòu nǐ .
Shàngdì (noun, god) bǎoyòu (verb, bless) nǐ (pronoun, you) .

9 He became godfather to the daughter of a close friend.
他成为一位挚友的女儿的教父。
tā chéngwéi yī wèi zhìyǒude nǚér de jiàofù .

她可能被选为那位年轻公主的教母。
tā kěnéng bèi xuǎn wèi nà wèi niánqīng gōngzhǔ de jiàomǔ .
tā (pronoun, she) kěnéng (adverb, perhaps) bèi (passive voice marker, V+ed) xuǎn (verb, choose) wèi (verb, become) nà (pronoun, that) wèi(measure word for person) niánqīng (adjective, young) gōngzhǔ (noun, princess) de (particle to connect the attributive and the noun it modifies) jiàomǔ(noun, godmother) .

11 The rain after the long drought was a godsend.
久旱逢甘霖是天赐之物。
jiǔ hàn féng gān lín shì tiāncì zhī wù .
jiǔ (adjective, long which means duration of time), hàn (noun, drought) féng (verb, meet) gān (adjective, sweet) lín (noun, continued rain) shì(verb, is) tiān (noun, god or heaven) cì(verb, give) zhī (a classic particle which is like de in modern Chinese, a connecting particle) wù (noun, thing) .

12 The old man is wise and godly.
那位老人又睿智又虔诚。
nà wèi lǎorén yòu ruìzhì yòu qiánchéng .
nà (pronoun, that) wèi (measure word for person) lǎo (adjective, old) rén (noun, person) yòu (adverb, also) ruìzhì (adjective, wise) yòu (adverb, also) qiánchéng ( adjective pious, devout, and sincere).
