你 听 到 闹 钟 声 你 推 开 了 抱 枕
nǐ tīng dào nào zhōng shēng nǐ tuī kāi le bào zhěn
You heard of the sound of alarm, and you pushed away the comforting pillow

你 醒 在 无 尽 的 疲 倦 的 人 生
nǐ xǐng zài wú jìn de pí juàn de rén shēng
You woke up in the endless tiring human life

英 雄 没 有 出 现 奇 迹 没 有 发 生
yīng xióng méi yǒu chū xiàn qí jì méi yǒu fā shēng
Heroes did not appear; miracle did not happen

你 只 有 苦 涩 的 即 溶 咖 啡 粉
nǐ zhí yǒu kǔ sè de jí róng kā fēi fěn
You only have the bitter instant coffee powder

你 天 天 看 新 闻 在 等 什 么 发 生
nǐ tiān tiān kàn xīn wén zài děng shén me fā shēng
You watch news everyday, and wait for something to happen

让 人 生 再 重 头 再 起 死 回 生

Let the life to go back to the beginning, and rise from the dead again

Just you and days grew to be full of dust

期 待 一 趟 旅 程 精 彩 万 分 你 却 还 在 等
qī dài yí tàng lǚ chéng jīng cǎi wàn fēn nǐ què hái zài děng
Look for a journey that is extremely exciting, yet you are still waiting

等 到 荒 废 青 春 用 尽 体 温 才 开 始 悔 恨
děng dào huāng fèi qīng chūn yòng jìn tǐ wēn cái kāi shǐ huǐ hèn
Wait till youth got wasted, used up all the body temperature, then start to regret

期 待 一 种 永 恒 却 怕 伤 痕 怕 碎 骨 粉 身
qī dài yì zhǒng yǒng héng què pà shāng hén pà suì gǔ fěn shēn
Look for one kind of eternity, yet I am afraid of wounds and scars and fear breaking bones and body into pieces

最 后 还 是 一 个 人 没 有 神 你 孤 独 的 生 存
zuì hòu hái shì yí gè rén méi yǒu shén nǐ gū dú de shēng cún
At last, still is one person alone; there is no God; you live alone

你 才 刚 出 了 门 你 就 开 始 在 等

You just walked out of door, and you started waiting right away

你 等 着 快 回 家 回 你 的 围 城

You waited coming home soon; returned to your encircled city

Free online basic learn Mandarin Chinese audio lesson 6 — Practical Chinese — How to ask for help or how to ask for a favor, the difference between 只是 zhi shi and 可是 ke shi, the usage of neng bu neng

“It is the characteristic of the magnanimous man to ask no favor but to be ready to do kindness to others.”

Aristotle quotes (Ancient Greek Philosopher, Scientist and Physician, 384 BC-322 BC)

The quote is very great, but people are social creatures. From small favors to grander ones, sometimes, we have to ask someone for help. It’s human nature and no one can live the life alone. In order to live a smoother life in a Chinese spoken world, it is important for you to learn how to ask for a favor.

Consider different readers’ Chinese levels, I arranged the lesson with the following sections:

Chinese text with audio, Chinese text with pinyin and audio, annotated Chinese text with pinyin, Chinese text with pinyin and English translation, vocabulary, grammar and an introduction of the most famous classic Chinese poem — Quiet Night Thought by the great Chinese poet Li Bai. You won’t be able to master this lesson in one day or two days, I suggest you spend one week to master it. It means you have to listen to the recording daily, review it daily, and at the end of the week, you will be able to see your leaping progress!

Thank you, you did me a big favor.
or
Thank you, you helped me a lot.

2 愿意 yuànyì means willing. You see both two words all have heart radical, so, when when you say 愿意, it means your heart is agreed on what you are going to do. In western wedding, when you say ” I do.” In Chinese it is 我愿意 Wǒ yuànyì。

3 行 xíng has multiple meanings. In this lesson, it means OK, or will do. Other usage of 行 xíng:

你太客气了。nǐ tài kèqi le .
You are too kind.

In front of my bed is the bright moonlight

疑是地上霜
Yí shì dìshàng shuāng
I suspect it is frost on the ground.

舉頭望山月
Jǔ tóu wàng shān yuè
I raise my head to look at the mountain moon,

低頭思故鄉

Then I lower my head, thinking of my hometown.
